A Wake Up Call

Janelle from Healthy Child/Healthy World has asked the mom community to help spread the word about a new campaign that they just launched centered on a video called “A Wake-Up Story.” They are trying to WAKE UP as many people as they can to the issue of chemicals in everyday products and encourage them to vote with their dollars in the marketplace and vote with their voices to governments.
Please watch this very short video (it is absolutely gorgeous) and then pass it on to as many people as you can. One by one we can make a difference together.

Toy Safety - Is It Really So Clear Cut?
I’m sure many of you have seen press or received emails about the new U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act that will be enacted February 10, 2009 regarding toy safety. Like most political topics, what often appears to be a black and white issue is actually a bit more hazy than that. I have recently read two blogs that I think very aptly represent the two sides of this issue (at least the two sides that I grapple with). I personally find myself flip-flopping almost daily (I’ve always struggled with being able to see both sides of a topic which often makes it difficult to take a stand on anything).
Take the time to read up on these. Both posts are well-written and it is worth educating yourself on this issue.
